The Harvest Table's 100% pure, Hydrolysed Chicken Collagen Granules contains Type II collagen.
Type II collagen is the main component of cartilage in the body and gives cartilage its tensile strength and elasticity. The primary function of cartilage is to cushion and protect joints and absorb mechanical stress. It is particularly prone to wear-and-tear, has poor blood supply and heals slowly.
Hydrolysed Type II collagen is widely recognised as being a key ingredient in leading-edge supplements for joint health for the following reasons;
• It is hydrolysed and can thus be easily absorbed by the body
• It is highly bioactive and bioavailable
• It can protect cartilage from degeneration as a result of wear and tear
• It promotes cartilage lubrication
• It reduces inflammation in the synovial fluid

What is the benefit of type II collagen?
Type II collagen is excellent for joint health as your body uses this kind of collagen to build your joints and ligaments.
Is type II Collagen better for arthritis than type I and III collagen?
Many people benefit from type I and III collagen if they have arthritis but if you don't find an improvement on type I and III after 3 months of consistent use at the correct dosage then consider adding type II collagen into your regime.
Is type II collagen sufficient on its own?
80% of our daily collagen requirements are type I collagen and so type II collagen should be used in addition to type I and not as a complete replacement.
Does chicken collagen have a flavour?
Yes, it has a chicken flavour similar to chicken stock.
